VeYol BDO is produced via biological fermentation using crude glycerol hydrolyzed from natural palm oil or coconut oil as raw material. Its production process is green and pollution-free with sustainable raw material sources, and it has obtained COSMOS Natural certification. This aligns with the current trend in the cosmetics industry toward green, sustainable and bio-based raw materials.
Naturally derived VeYol BDO exhibits extremely low skin irritation. Third-party test reports show that aqueous solutions of 10% and 15% VeYol BDO are non-irritating to the skin. Its milder profile allows for a reduction in the use of anti-irritant ingredients in formulations.

1. Effective solubilization
Solvents are indispensable major components in cosmetic formulations, primarily serving to dissolve ingredients.The addition of VeYol BDO in cosmetics helps dissolve ingredients that tend to crystallize, have low solubility, or are difficult to dissolve in water. It can be used as a solvent for plant extracts and fragrances, aiding in the dispersion of active ingredients and the retention of aroma.

VeYol BDO is also an excellent skin feel modifier that delivers a better application experience.When glycerin is included in the formulation, VeYol BDO can reduce the sticky and heavy sensation caused by glycerin.
3. High Moisturizing
The hydroxyl groups in VeYol BDO exhibit hydrophilic and hygroscopic properties, allowing it to absorb moisture from the surrounding environment, raise the level of secondary bound water in the stratum corneum, and thereby enhance its moisturizing effect.
The following clinical trial data demonstrate that, at equivalent concentrations, VeYol BDO provides superior skin moisturization compared to 1,3-butanediol and 1,3-propanediol.
